Questions for this week: Questions for this week: What was
Moses' sin when he struck the rock 2 times as the people looked on? (Num. 20:11
vs. Ex. 17:6) What does this mean for present-day believers? What
did Jesus mean by his remark: "Watch out for the yeast (or leaven) of the
Pharisees and of Herod" and how does this apply to us?
Bonus: Attend the Read Through the
Bible in One Year (RBY) discussion group on Sunday after the service. Just come
into the Red Room for a casual talk about the verses, concepts, or stories that
made an impression on you. If you have questions or comments that you want
considered at these weekly sessions, just drop them anonymously into the RBY jar
in the narthex. Pick up an “Our Daily Bread” devotional in the narthex. RBY
readings appear in each day’s reading.
If you seek [wisdom] as silver, and
search for her as hidden treasures; then you will understand the fear of the
Lord and find the knowledge of God. Proverbs
2:4-5

MISSION
MOMENT The Peace
Visitation Team, a part of the Mission Team, is interested in extending
hospitality to visitors to our church. In an effort to share the peace, and
love of Jesus Christ, members of the seven -member team make friendly visits to
homes of those who have shown an interest in our church. Kathy
Schroer visits those in the north, Larry Hendricks and Priscilla Peacock
visit those in the Morningside area, and Carole Johnston visits those in
Sergeant Bluff and points south. Shirley Mobley provides names, and Sharon
Hendricks provides small gifts for the visits. Eventually the team
hopes to open a welcome center in the Red Room. Anyone interested in
helping with the welcome center or desiring to visit is certainly welcome.
Contact Carole Johnston for details.

The
2010 Census: Coming Soon:
As the 2010 Census approaches,
each of our households will receive a form. Since the census has such an impact
on the communities in which all of us live and work, our organization has
partnered with the U.S. Census Bureau to encourage participation. As
mandated by the U.S. Constitution, every person living in the United
States must be counted – both citizens and
noncitizens. Data from this national count help determine key funding and
government representation decisions. Please complete and mail back your
form and encourage your family, friends and neighbors to do the same. For
more information, visit www.2010census.gov
