PieceQuilters
If you are looking for an example of how you might use your talents in the Lord’s work, you need look no further than PieceQuilters. A dedicated group of women, the PieceQuilters, work every Tuesday afternoon at the church sewing quilts for a variety of mission and outreach activities. They make comfort quilts for hospice and dialysis units and snoedles [comfort items] for the neonatal unit at Unity Point Medical Center. Other recipients of quilts include fire and tornado victims, the homeless, the Mary Treglia House clients, as well as veterans. Young people of the church also receive a quilt honoring their graduation from high school.
Kids Hope
Kids Hope USA programs create one-on-one mentoring relationships between adult church members willing to give a little time and a lot of love, and at-risk elementary schoolchildren in their community who desperately need loving, caring adults in their lives.
